I really enjoyed this once I got into it. It didn't take me long to get into the story, but rather the prose. It was a bit dense, harder to follow, and full of references. But I started following along just fine and coming to really like the characters. I really felt like I could be in those rooms and like I was old friends.
I do think the end was poorly motivated. I wish I understood why it happened that way.
One note, my Mom said this is the only book that she stated reading again immediately after finishing. I reread (listened) to the first chapter again and was glad to have done it, though I do not plan to read it all again.
